Rock The Pantry!

A Fundraiser and Food Drive for Oakwood’s Pantry!

Hangar On The Hudson - 675 RIVER ST, 7PM
$12 admission/donation

The Food Pantry at Oakwood provides more than three days worth of meals for families in Rensselaer County, mostly coming from in and around the Oakwood neighborhood. In the last six months, like most pantries, the number of folks coming to our pantry has nearly doubled. At the same time, the government has cut vital funding we rely on to purchase food.

“Rock The Pantry” is a Swordpaw Studios project where participating bands will share the logo on their flyer and collect shelf stable goods for the pantry throughout the winter months. Swordpaw Studios is one of OCC’s resident organizations. It provides rehearsal and recording space for local bands.

Needed Items: Peanut Butter, Jelly, Canned Tuna, Mayonnaise, Macaroni and Cheese (shelf stable), Canned Beans, Rice, Personal Hygiene and Cleaning Products

A kickoff event will be held at Hangar on the Hudson on November 25th, starting at 7pm. Swordpaw’s Pony in the Pancake, Rabid Children, Revival Revival, and Architrave will perform live!

Capital Region Breaking Cycles of Harm and Violence

The People’s Campaign for Parole Justice for our Capital Region Breaking Cycles of Harm and Violence event is part of a statewide series of events.

The purpose of this event is to celebrate the critical work of uplifting communities being done by formerly and currently incarcerated people and their families. We will also call for passage of parole justice measures to bring home more leaders in this work.

Senator Breslin and Assembly-member Fahy, will be giving official proclamations to formerly incarcerated members of our parole and prison reform campaign.
