Did you know that Oakwood Community Center has been hosting a 5 week performing arts summer camp as part of our Oakwood Techniques program for up to 30 students in the City of Troy for the last four years? And that last year, our students put on The Wizard of Oz, There’s No Place Like Troy,  a full theatrical production complete with dance routines? Students auditioned for, rehearsed and performed every role. They planned, designed and created the props and assisted with set design. Every student was involved and participated in the production. This year we are doing it again! We will also provide acting and dance/choreography lessons as well as extracurriculars  including gardening, cooking,  weekly opportunities for swimming, seeing a performance and all the regular “camp” activities. Most of our families receive a partial or full scholarship for this transformative program. We need you to help us raise enough funds for all 30 students to attend camp this summer.
