Our first annual Oakwood Glow is an evening of cocktails, live music by the combined talents of Abu Zeyn and Jordan Taylor Hill, and good conversation on the patio we built ourselves in the backyard of one of Troy's beloved community spaces. Our program will include presentations from architecture + on our building's future, a short film about what Oakwood does today by young filmmaker Genesis Cooper, and a look back on this neighborhood by YWCA of the Greater Capital Region CEO, Starletta Renee.
Oakwood Community Center has been rooting for this city since 2013. Youth programming. Arts and Culture. Food and Care. A building that's been gathering people since the 1860s and isn't stopping now.
As our neighborhoods' engagement and enthusiam with Oakwood expands, the building needs to be a physical representation of that beauty, strength and love - and we'd love you to be a part of that story.
Come for the cocktails. Stay for the community. Share in our Glow Up.
